Oil Deodorizer
Pure oil and fat (the chemical essence are mixture of many kinds of triglycerides, TG called for short) are colorless and smellless. The basic reason of odorous oil is non-TG ingredient mixed in oil. Deodorization is to remove such odor and get high grade cooking oil. It's also a main appratus in physical refining to remove FFA.
Deodorization tower is composed of several decks with 4-6 grids in each deck. Oil in each grid is tumbled by direct steam through mammoth pump. The air is sucked through the central channel by a 4-stage steam ejector pump. The sucked air is condensed in fatty acid catcher which has layers of stainless steel packing. The rising FFA gas contact with cool packing layer in many times to liquidize.
